We all had a busy week.The Wednesday deadline for posting items passed, as well as the Friday meeting deadline.
There were 4 items on our tentative first meeting agenda.They were:
1. Technology integration
2. Professional Development
3. STaR Chart data
4. The benefits of using a wiki for our interactive meetings.
I think that to make participation in the wiki community easier, we should address only 1 item at a time. I also propose that we post by Friday of each week so that we all have adequate time to reflect and post.
First, let's briefly address wikis and their benefits. A wiki is a web page that can be edited by members of a wiki community. It is an effective tool for colaboration. Instead of face-to-face meetings, we can use the wiki to collaborate and communicate. For a wiki meeting to be efficient and effective, we all need to post our input by the proposed meeting date.
For our first meeting activity, I would like for everyone to view our STaR Chart data and then comment on your technology strengths and weaknesses on the chart below. Please click on this link http://pzitb.blogspot.com/ to view a Power Point presentation on our campus' STaR Chart data.
Mr. Doherty, our campus' technology teacher, is going to be providing technology professional development after school for those who are interested. I will share this information with him so that he can take our technology strenths and weaknessess into consideration when he is planning his sessions.
